Our contributions to the community

As part of our initiative to give back to the community for completed transaction we pledge that we will donate $200 to a charity listed below. The client will of course get a say in where to direct the contributions! If you have a suggestion for a good charity please email me the name of the organization and your reasons for why they are deserving. My goal for 2010 is to donate in total $6000 to the various charities below and to participate in one charitable event.

BC Children’s Hospital, an agency of the Provincial Health Services Authority, provides expert care for the provinces’ most seriously ill or injured children, including newborns and adolescents. Children’s provides vital specialized health services that may not be available anywhere else in the province. Their Vision is to be ‘better health for children and youth, achieved with partners who seek and share knowledge and work together to ensure access to the best care in the best setting.’

The British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BC SPCA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in BC. Through its 36 branches located around BC and its provincial office in Vancouver, the BC SPCA provides a wide range of services for more than 40,000 homeless, abused, injured and abandoned animals around the province. The BC SPCA was created under the auspices of the provincial Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and is the only animal welfare organization in BC which has the authority to enforce laws relating to animal cruelty and to prepare cases for Crown Counsel for the prosecution of individuals who inflict suffering on animals

Strong communities include strong kids. We believe all kids should have the chance to run, skate, play, and grow. Canadian Tire Jumpstart® is a community-based charitable program that helps kids aged 4-18 participate in organized sports and recreation such as hockey, dance, soccer and swimming, so they can develop important life skills, self esteem and confidence.

National in scope but local in focus, Canadian Tire Jumpstart® delivers support to children in financial need through a Canadian-wide network of local chapters. These chapters are made up of a variety of community leaders committed to helping kids get active, such as Big Brothers and Big Sisters Canada, YMCA, and Parks and Recreation.

These community partners are joined by Canadian Tire Dealers and Petroleum Agents, and together the chapters identify children in financial need who would benefit from the program.

To date, there are 279 Canadian Tire Jumpstart® chapters in communities across the country. Since its launch in February 2005, Canadian Tire Jumpstart® has helped give more than 159,573 kids in financial need the chance to play.
